Celebrations in Menlo Park

In Events, In the media, PPH Menlo Park

We have so many things to celebrate in Menlo Park!

Some highlights this month:

  • One of our dogs, Timmy, graduated as a Facility Dog.
  • We are expecting a new Service Dog in training, Sully.
  • We continue to Spark Laughter that uplifts the world through the ROFL Challenge.

Timmy!

Timmy’s graduation was a success. He has transitioned into his new role as a Facility Dog at the VA Menlo Park Women’s Trauma Recovery Program.  Find him at: #PPHTimmy.

Timmy will continue to serve many Veterans in his new role. Check out our Facebook page to see pictures of the graduation. This was the first Facility Dog graduation ceremony that was held here on VA grounds. Over 40 people joined in the ceremony to recognize the amazing accomplishment.  We definitely felt the love and support!  Thanks to everyone who spoke at Timmy’s graduation:

Timmy’s Graduation

Timmy was named after Private First Class Timothy Michael Carroll, a US Army soldier who fell in battle during the Vietnam War.

We especially want to acknowledge and thank Kathy, our wonderful guest speaker. Kathy is Private Carroll’s sister and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.  The Daughters donated to PPH to name Timmy after her brother.

Meet Sully

Ready. Sully. GO!

We can’t wait to meet our youngest and newest edition to the Menlo Park Paws for Purple Hearts team, Sully.  Sully is a 13 week-old yellow Labrador Retriever.  He was donated by the Project2Heal organization.  He started his training at our Virginia site and will now continue with us in Menlo Park.

Sully will be landing in Menlo Park this week so follow our Facebook page for more pictures and videos.  Find him at: #PPHSully

ROFL

We continue to try and Spark Laughter that uplifts the world through the ROFL Challenge. This is the world’s first ever global collaborative fundraising challenge. 50 non-profits including Paws for Purple Hearts Menlo Park will benefit from the challenge. We hope to have everyone participate, spread the word, donate, and most of all, SPARK LAUGHTER THAT UPLIFTS THE WORLD!

Go to roflchallenge.org to donate or in the U.S. text ROFL to 50155.  For more background, check out our YouTube video appeal.

Paws for Purple Hearts depends upon private donations and grants to provide services to Warriors at no charge. You can be a part of the action by volunteering at your local Paws for Purple Hearts site or by making a tax-deductible donation.
