Timothy Michael Carroll

 In General, PPH Blog

Timothy Michael Carroll, Private First Class, was killed in action on March 12, 1969 during the Vietnam War.  He served in the 5th Battalion, 16th Artillery and 4th Infantry Division of the US Army.  His bunker took a direct hit from bombshells originating from Cambodia into Vietnam.  He was awarded the Bronze Star, the Army Commendation Medal, the Purple Heart and the Good Conduct medal.  On November 3, 2014 Kathleen Carroll Earnshaw was presented with a certificate from the Department of Defense Vietnam War Commemoration signed by the Secretary of Defense and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

At that meeting the Chapter voted to make a donation to the Paws For Purple Hearts organization and has a service dog named “Timmy” after this brave young man who gave his life for his country.
